Website themes: how to choose the right one for your business

A ready theme for your sector, a custom design from your description, or your own design in code: how to choose, and what stays editable afterwards.

Your theme is the first thing a visitor sees, and it decides in seconds whether your business looks trustworthy. But choosing a theme on Tansik is not a final decision: your content is separate from the look, so you can change the design later without losing a single page.

Three ways to start

In themes and designs you have three options:

  1. A ready theme for your sector: designed in advance, with a header, footer and sections suited to your kind of business.
  2. A custom design: describe the look you want in words or with a picture, and get a draft to preview before you decide.
  3. Your own design: if you have a designer, they can build the design and sections in code, or import a whole site as a zip.

Ready themes: which one fits?

Each theme was made for a particular sector, with what that sector's visitors look for:

  • Company: structured and clear, with bold figures and client logos, for companies and firms. See solutions for companies.
  • Luxury Real Estate: full-bleed photography and listings-style projects, for developers and agents. See solutions for real estate.
  • Royal Flat: navy and gold with refined type, for leaders and CEOs.
  • Atelier: projects laid out like magazine spreads, for interior and furniture studios.
  • Gardener: organic shapes, greens and a clear call to action, for landscapers and nurseries.
  • Associations: equal Donate and Volunteer buttons and impact figures, for charities and non-profits.
  • More themes for hospitals and clinics, law firms, academies and Quran centres, and scholars.

If your sector isn't listed, the Classic theme is clean and flexible for any business.

What you can change on any theme

A theme is a starting point, not a cage. On any theme you can set:

  • Your colours: a primary and a secondary colour from your brand.
  • Your fonts: matched Arabic and English font pairs, such as IBM Plex, Cairo, Tajawal, Almarai and Noto Kufi.
  • Light or dark mode.
  • Header and footer: for example a "Call-first" header that puts the call button up front, or a footer with columns or a call to action.
  • Animation on scroll, at the level you choose.
  • The order of sections on every page.

A custom design, when a theme isn't enough

If you have a clear visual identity, or you've seen a site you want something like, ask for a custom design:

  • From your description: describe the look you want, with pictures from your site, and get a draft to preview first. Your site doesn't change until you decide to use it.
  • With the AI assistant: attach a picture or screenshot and the assistant designs a look along those lines. There is also a "From scratch" option if you want a look that is entirely your own, with no theme behind it. More in our article on building your site with AI.
  • In code: for designers and agencies, reusable blocks with fields the site owner can edit later.

Five questions to help you choose

  1. What should your visitor do? If it's to call, choose a header that puts the call button first. If it's to browse, a theme that gives photos room.
  2. Do you have good photos? Themes with full-width photos need real, high-quality pictures.
  3. Is your site in two languages? Every theme supports Arabic and English, so try the look in both. Read our guide to bilingual websites.
  4. What are your brand colours? Apply them to the theme before you judge it.
  5. How does it look on a phone? Most visitors come from one, so preview the design on a small screen.

Change your mind whenever you like

Changing the design doesn't remove your content: your pages, products and posts stay, and only the look changes. You preview the new design on your real pages before anyone sees it. Designs are kept, so you can go back to your previous one or apply another at any time.

Get started

Open your site's design screen, try two or three themes on your real content, then apply the one that fits. If you haven't started yet, pick a plan in the plans section.
